Insights: Zack Media meets Lito Sy

July 10, 2014, we held an interview with Lito Sy at 6 pm in Shangri-La Mall Edsa. I woke up excited and a bit nervous. Before we go to Shangri-La, we decided to go first to SM Megamall to buy donuts for Sir Lito as an appreciation gift. It is really fun to have group mates that you can easily bond with. It was a really fun trip! Mostly I learned to go to SM Megamall *somehow* and I learned that whoever you'll be grouped with, even if you don't normally bond together, you can still have a fun with the right attitude and communicate well. I can apply this in my possible future teams or co-workers.

It was 5 pm when we got there, we fixed everything we need our cameras and its settings. While waiting we got to bond and it was fun I got to know them more. I felt very nervous when he texted that he's on site. I didn't even understand his text very well. All I know he is at Dome and I don't even know where he is. I was so nervous at that time I forgot to check my phone again and he left a missed call. So I called him up, unknowingly he's already inside Dome. We found him and my first expression was he is a very kind man. He is not what I expect him to be, at first I thought he was a very serious man but his not. As we started the interview, I find him humble, inspiring, and a good role model that I can look up to.

At the end of our interview, Sir Lito Sy said something that struck my mind. If I remember it clearly he said that “Be different from others because if you can do what others cannot do then there is something with you” and “Wag kang mang aapak ng ibang tao para sumikat. Don’t ever ever do that! Go high slowly, wala kang aapakan para maachieve mo yung goal”. The way I understand it there is a good and right way to achieve your goals and its good to be different from others. There will be a reason why the clients want you because you can do something that others can not. I learned a lot from him and it's very inspiring how he achieve his goals from being a production assistant to one of the known wedding and portrait photographer in the world. It is true that good things happen to those who work hard.
